About District 6
Our District sits in the heart of England and all our 10 clubs are based in towns, with members living within easy reach, whether it be in the local neighbourhood or in the more rural areas. This gives plenty of scope for friendship outings like a river cruise, a country walk, meeting up in a café or one of our many delightful pubs just for a chat or to plan events.
District Chairman
District Chairman Ann Hawkings
Welcome
It is a great privilege to be this year’s District 6 Chairman, and I am looking forward to visiting clubs and other districts close by. I have been in Inner Wheel for 11 years and have been club president twice and District International Service Committee Chairman. As a nurse manager with some unsocial work hours like many of us have endeavoured, I have needed to network around it and enjoy Inner Wheel.
District 6 covers the West Midlands area and now have 10 clubs who are actively involved in their communities and beyond supporting a wide range of local groups and charities as well as international charities.
At our Assembly, which was well supported, lots of good information was shared and we looked at a few key headings for our club and district meetings including Friendship, Fun, Flexibility and Future.
I know all our clubs offer a warm friendly welcome to any newcomers.
We are making plans for our Orange the World events and there are some really good ideas circulating. We are planning a real Orange theme for our November District Meeting.
I would be happy to encourage anyone interested in Inner Wheel to contact us so we could welcome any ladies wanting to be involved in our West Midlands area.
Wishing you all lots of good wishes in the year ahead.
Ann Hawkings
