About District 127
District 127 is a small District with just 11 Clubs, but geographically covers a very large area, including parts of the East Riding of Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and almost all of Lincolnshire.

From Both
Our hope for the future of Inner Wheel is that we can at least maintain the present membership, and at most increase our numbers by inviting friends and neighbours to our meetings and by putting ourselves about in public spaces.
Welcome
District 127 has two ladies sharing the role of District Chairman for the year 2025-2026, Angela Denton from Barnsley and Margaret Miller from Lincoln .
Angela
After retiring from a career in banking, I was invited by a friend to come to an Inner Wheel meeting in Barnsley. I attended a couple of meetings before deciding to join in November 2017. The following July I was sworn in as Treasurer, a post I still hold. In 2019 I took on the Club Secretary role and in 2024-2025 I shared the role of President of our Club.
Taking on the District Chairman role is just the next step on my journey, and I am looking forward to sharing it with Margaret.

Who we support

District Chairmen’s Charities
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
and
Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Our Charity for the year is the Lincs & Notts and Yorkshire Air Ambulance – I expect we have all seen the yellow helicopter flying over our gardens hurrying to save someone’s life, and this charity covers the whole of our District.
International Charity

Our International Charity is The Busoga Trust, which brings clean, safe water to rural communities in Uganda.
Margaret
I joined Inner Wheel approximately 40 years ago, and was immediately assigned to the Overseas Committee (as it was then called.) Before I knew it, I was asked to become the Overseas Committee Chairman and have hardly been off the Club Committee ever since, serving as Secretary, Treasurer and President several times over.
By attending Conferences, District Meetings and Charter Anniversaries, I have seen an overview of the activities at Club, District and Association levels, and have had the opportunity to meet other members of the wider Inner Wheel in Great Britain and Ireland.
Inner Wheel has given me a level of confidence which I never had before (with a small side dish of panic!)
