Welcome
I am delighted to be Joint District Chairman with my great friend Alisson for the year 2025-2026.
I have been a member of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight for over 15 years where I have held every office except Club Correspondent (I don’t know how I got away with that one) and although living on an Island is wonderful it does have its limitations.
I was previously District Chairman in 2016-2017 having been District Secretary for 4 years and then Membership Officer 2017-2018.
The 11 Clubs in our District are diverse and spread out with 2 Islands, Guernsey and Wight, and clubs in Dorset, Hampshire and South Wiltshire and I look forward to visiting them at both Business Meetings and their Social Events.
Our International Rally is in October where the speaker will be from Tools with a Mission, our International District Charity for the coming year. Our Rally will be held in February where we are looking forward to welcoming Association President Pam Boyes.
Amongst the many Charites we have donated to is “New Forest for Ukraine” a small local Charity which is making a big difference to those suffering the war in Ukraine.

Who we support
This year our Joint District Chairmen have chosen “Support a Hospice in your area” as their chosen charity. So, instead of paying into District, each Club can pay directly to their local Hospice, and that means all areas of the District will benefit.

Tools With a Mission is a Christian Charity that collects unwanted usable tools, refurbishes them, sorts them into trade tool kits and sends them to the developing world for livelihood creation. In doing so, they also support communities through volunteering opportunities and contribute significantly to environmental sustainability by reducing waste and carbon emissions in the UK.
Our local efforts here in the UK have a global impact, helping to create a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.
Welcome
Here we are at the beginning of another Inner Wheel year. I did not ever think I would be in this position again as your District Chairman. However, I am delighted to be here sharing the role with my lovely friend Linda. I so enjoyed my year as DC 10 years ago – yes 10 years – and I am sure this coming year will be just as good with club visits, anniversaries district meetings, rallies and meeting up with Inner Wheel friends old and new. We also have our Conference to look forward to in Llandudno.
I would like to thank the District Executive and my own Lymington Club members for their continued support. The way we run our Clubs and District has changed a lot in the past few years with zoom meetings, WhatsApp groups and Messaging but it all helps to keep us in closer contact with each other. I would also recommend coming onto the District Executive – they are a lovely group of ladies.
I wish you all a successful year ahead full of fellowship and friendship as we ‘Orange the World’.
