About District 24
Welcome to District 24 – a small active District with 8 clubs. District 24 has celebrated its 50th birthday, we were previously part of District 8 which covered Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and a small part of Cambridgeshire, Essex broke away in 1974 and became District 24. Basildon is the most southerly and Harwich and Dovercourt the most northerly. We stretch almost to the Hertfordshire border in Harlow and to the east Clacton on Sea.
We encourage new members and involve them in the varied Inner Wheel activities we all enjoy.

Welcome
I am very much looking forward to my year as District Chairman of D24.
I have been a member of the Club of Chelmsford Mildmay Inner Wheel for 14years.
During that time I have served as Secretary, President and ISO.
Before I retired I was a primary school teacher, at one point working for Immediate Past President Anthea, who introduced me to Inner Wheel. I have three daughters and three grandchildren, who are very supportive in all my activities.

Who we support
My Charity this year is The Brain Tumour Charity. Some of our District members have been affected by this disease and know the devastating effect a diagnosis of a brain tumour brings.
Every year, more than 11,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour.
These are very hard tumours to cure and this charity provides research and support for those suffering from this disease.
