Inner Wheel District 15

About District 15

District 15 covers the counties of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire on the West coast of Wales, part of Powys in Mid Wales and across the South Wales counties to Gwent in the East. All clubs meet at least once a month (apart from August) with fun and fellowship on the agenda.

Our activities include lots of coffee mornings, lunches and afternoon teas. This is often where we raise money for charities, and where we come up with more interesting ideas on how to do so whilst we are socializing and enjoying each other’s company. Recent fundraising ventures have included a sponsored walk along the entire Pembrokeshire Coastal Path (not all at once), making masks during the Covid pandemic and a Zipworld Challenge.

District Chairman

District Chairman Liz Bettles

Welcome

A big hello to you from District Chairman Liz.
If you have found this webpage, you are already interested in Inner Wheel in South Wales; you may already be a member of a Club, or thinking about joining one. All of our Clubs are very welcoming, and if you’d like to come along to a meeting, just let one of us know, and try it. That’s what happened to me 11 years ago! I suddenly had time on my hands and wanted to belong to something bigger than me, make friendships, and make a difference.

My charity for this year is Breast Cancer Now. I have been personally touched by this, and I’m sure we all know someone who has travelled that journey. The scope of their work is developing all the time, and hopefully, our daughters, and their daughters, won’t have to make the same passage.

Who we support

District Chairman Liz’s Charity for 2024-25 is Breast Cancer Now, something that has affected many of us, either personally or someone we know.

‘We’re Breast Cancer Now. We’re here to change the lives of people affected by breast cancer. How? By combining the power of research and support.
Our world-class researchers are working in labs across the UK and Ireland to create a world where the words “breast cancer” aren’t met with fear. We’re building a brighter future for everyone affected by breast cancer.
And because over 600,000 people are living with or beyond the disease, we’re here with support for today, too. Our helpline, health information, and support services are here for you and your loved ones. Every step of the way.
We’re the place to turn for anything and everything to do with breast cancer. Whatever you’re going through. Whoever you are. We’re here.’
