D5 IW Manchester President Joan

Mrs Joan Johnstone is the new President for the Founder Club of Manchester.

Joan has been a member of IW Manchester since 1989 and has held all the various offices at club level. Joan has also served at District level as Editor, Council member and then District Chairman in the Millenium year.

At that time there were 34 clubs and Joan visited them all, accompanied by Sebastian, a blow-up torso of a man, who kept her safe whilst returning home late at night! Married to Ernest, the youngest of the four Johnstone’s Paints brothers for 60 years. Joan has four beautiful daughters, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Joan is a lifelong Salvationist, soprano soloist, after dinner speaker and lay preacher. This is Joan’s 4th time serving as club president and she’s loving every minute of it!
