Inner Wheel Conference in Llandudno

Report from Pat Mirfield, District 4 MOC

The 2026 GB&I Inner Wheel Conference held in Llandudno, brought together 900+ members including those from District 4 clubs  Aireborough, Otley and Ilkley.  Association President Pam Boyes was joined by International President Kay Morland from Australia who focussed on kindness, environmental stewardship and personal development.  Highlights included presentations by Frankie Hobro, owner of Anglesey Sea Zoo, Emma McNally, CEO of Tourette's Action and Eleanor Thatcher, fifth generation English Cider Maker from Somerset as well as fundraising successes for Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, the Association President's charity.  Attendees eagerly anticipated the concluding session, a talk by Patrick Grant from "The Great British Sewing Bee" .  Patrick appeared in a casual outfit, diverging from his usual TV attire and focussed his talk on the importance of thoughtful clothing purchases.  Over the past decade, he has developed a sustainable clothing range, utilising British manufacturers, quality materials and supporting local communities and the economy.  Before leaving, Patrick judged outfits created by members using the Association scarves with some truly impressive creations, including a parasol!

Attendees enjoyed lively entertainment from Wales of the West End and the Zoots culminating in a celebratory event and a memorable close to Conference.
