I first became an Honorary member of Inner Wheel in 2015, following my year as Chairman of the Tangent Club. I enjoyed meeting everyone and took on full membership in 2018. The aims of the organisation impressed me, as I believe that friendship, service and international understanding are all important values. I have made many friends in Inner Wheel and enjoy both business meetings and our social gatherings, and hope that I can help to offer a varied and fun programme to my fellow members in the year ahead.
Who we are
Marlow Inner Wheel originally started as a club for wives of Rotarians in 1924. Marlow chartered in 1957. Since 2012 the Club has welcomed new members without Rotary connections, but the ties between Rotary and Inner Wheel remain strong.
Marlow Inner Wheel emphasises friendship and service to our local community. We also reach out further afield to IW clubs in the U.K. and overseas, whilst supporting charities at home and abroad through our fund raising events. We have special links to other Inner Wheel clubs, one in Ilkley and others in Australia and France.
We meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. Our Friday coffee get-togethers at the Ark Cafe are popular with members, as are our Textile Lunches, when we knit or sew for good causes.
