Where do we meet?

Braintree and Bocking are the oldest club in Inner Wheel District 24.

We are a small club, having only 9 members and we meet in members’ homes.

When do we meet?

 We meet at 2pm on the second Monday of every month except August   We also try to arrange a speaker meeting or social at the same time on the fourth Monday of each month, again excluding August.

Club History

Braintree and Bocking club were formed in 1937 and recently celebrated our 85th charter anniversary with a lunch at Colne Valley Golf Club.  The founder President was Violet Dance whose husband was a tobacconist on Braintree and most of the committee were wives of prominent trades people in the town.

Our current membership is small but does include  Association Past Presidents Pam Byford and Betty Roberts.  Our oldest member is 98.

What we do

On 10th January five members of Braintree and Bocking club visited Cressing Temple barns which were built in the 14th century by the Knights Templar.  We had lunch in the cafe run by Wilkins of Tiptree, jam makers.
