Launceston Inner Wheel Club celebrates 100 years of the Inner Wheel Organisation

This year Inner Wheel Clubs celebrate 100 years of service and Launceston Club have supported The Molly & Paul Childcare Foundation which is in partnership with Launceston College to raise funds for the Bunjakko Island Vocational School in Uganda with 100 items. The purpose of the school is to help disadvantaged children who are in desperate need of help, the children may be orphaned, neglected, abandoned or simply living in acute poverty.

Emma Thompson a History Teacher at Launceston College attended the meeting and gave an enlightening presentation and explained how the 100 items being donated would be used. What has been achieved and how it helps young people in desperate situations have a future.  They are in the process of building and furnishing a cottage on the shores of Lake Victoria and this will be used as accommodation for visitors to the school.  The 100 items donated varied and included mosquito nets, kitchen utensils and bathroom equipment.

Linda Mullins the International Officer for Launceston Inner Wheel presented Ms Thompson with a cheque and the list of the 100 items the Club would like to purchase.
